The company is seeking to dispose all its shares in the grid connection, associated onshore land rights and wind data after the Crown Estate started to look for a new owner of the project lease.
ORE Catapult operations director Tony Quinn, said, "With its world-class testing and demonstration facilities at the National Renewable Energy Centre (Narec) in Blyth, the ORE Catapult will work closely and constructively with the eventual successful bidder for the Blyth Offshore Demonstration project for the good of the whole sector."
National Renewable Energy Centre (Narec) developed the project, which can house 15 turbines at depths of 35m, 45m and 55m.
Expressions of interest are now being sought from developers capable of delivering an operational project by 2016/17 and a tender process will start once the level of market interest is established.
The site received approval for a 99MW offshore wind demonstration project in November 2013.
The offshore anemometry platform installed in 2012 and located three nautical miles off Blyth will remain an ORE Catapult asset.
Research and development projects and data licensing services will continue to be offered from the platform.
