Drone inspection

The partnership will leverage HUVRdata’s data capture capabilities and cloud based services and EdgeData’s BladeEdge analytics software for automated inspection of the condition of wind turbines.

HUVRdata CEO Bob Baughman said: "Our collaboration will allow the industry to accelerate the adoption of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) within O&M operations and provide the most robust analytics and cloud based services to lower annual operating expenses."

Both the companies will collaborate on data capture, software analytics tools, data handling and reporting.

As part of collaboration, the companies will try to accelerate software performance, deliver enterprise-grade cloud-based and on-site data storage, and optimize reporting tools to serve the needs of different organizational roles, from wind farm technician to vice president of operations.

HUVRdata offers critical data intelligence to businesses in industries including wind, solar, oil and gas and industrial agriculture.

It has already received FAA authorization for its industrial drone applications and now holds a 333 exemption for wind turbine inspections.

EdgeData has developed BladeEdge, an analytical software which helps in aerial inspections and draw actionable intelligence to improve performance and extend blade life.
