Vattenfall has said that the Forsmark-3 reactor has been shut down after leakage was identified in the valve operating network for the pneumatically controlled valves in the reactor containment.
In conjunction with the tests prior to restarting Ringhals-2 after the annual overhaul shutdown, it was found that one of the auxiliary cooling systems did not deliver the water flow presupposed in the safety analyses.
Vattenfall is not expected to restart the Ringhals reactor before the reasons for the deviation have been established and action has been taken to rectify the problem. The restarting date has provisionally been set to June 12, 2008.
