In July 2006, Ecco will introduce the Ecco Freddo, made with Ecco Domani’s Pinot Grigio; Dolce Domani, made with its Merlot; and Ecco Sidro drinks, made with the company’s Chianti.

The new concoctions have been created by Alex Ott, who has created cocktails for a number of top-tier restaurants and bars globally. Ecco has said that its strategy is to make wines more fashionable to consumers.

Ecco Domani has been on the forefront of trends both in wine and fashion. Making wine based drinks adds an enjoyable, refreshing twist to our wines, said marketing director David Bowman. It’s the next evolution to the beloved sangria and we see it as an emerging trend that consumers will readily embrace.

Ecco Freddo’s main ingredient is watermelon, and is mixed with Ecco Domani’s 2005 Pinot Grigio. Other ingredients include pineapple juice and sugar, garnished with a rind of watermelon to give it a ‘chic’ look. Dolce Domani on the other hand, consists of Ecco Domani’s 2004 Merlot and lime juice.

The recipe for its Ecco Sidro product includes apple cider, Chai tea powder, ginger juice and the company’s 2004 Chianti.
