The European Commission (EC) had suspended the investigation in June 2008, to assess more information related to reservations that StatoilHydro’s takeover of ConocoPhillips’s retail fuel assets would impede the fuel retail market in Norway and Sweden.
StatoilHydro is seeking to acquire 274 automated Jet-brand fuel stations in the Scandinavian countries of Denmark, Norway and Sweden from ConocoPhillips, according to the news source. The EC has set November 12, 2008 as the deadline for its verdict on the case.
