The three fields have proven reserves of about 18.3 million barrels and the crude at the fields has API grades of between 21.5 and 26.
Eno-Ron was never placed into production, Ocano was stopped in 1996 due to a major water flow, and Chanangue was closed in 1992 because of low production and high water content.
A field is considered marginal in Ecuador if production doesn’t go beyond 1% of total national production, which now amounts to around 500,000 barrels a day.
The company has also named a special commission that must present a report on the offers by June 12, 2009.
