The contract is valued at approximately EUR640m. The company holds 75% share in the project, with Ansaldo Energia holding 25% of it.
The scope of the project involves engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the natural gas fired power plant, which is to be located 35 kilometers south of Damascus. The plant is expected to generate a minimum of 700MW with a minimum electrical power efficiency of 55.3% at the reference temperature and altitude of the power plant
The launch of commercial operations would be within three years of receipt of funding for the project.
