Pratt & Whitney, a US-based power plant manufacturer, will collaborate with MCTM to supply and install the plant at Nolka in Sirajganj district. Pratt & Whitney has so far supplied a number of gas turbines to different countries, which now generate about 35,000MW electricity.
Senior engineers and directors of both, MCTM and Pratt & Whitney, participated in a discussion. Pratt & Whitney is also expected to provide the know-how and support to MCTM, as it installs its first power plant in the country.
Officials hope that the proposed plant would play a significant role in easing the severe power crisis across the country.
