The company will supply 25 units of the cold climate version of its MM92 type turbine for these wind farms including Settlers Landing, Snowy Ridge, Grey Highlands, Cloudy Ridge and Clean Breeze, with a total generating capacity of 50MW.
With a nominal capacity of 2MW each and a hub height of 100m, the turbines will be delivered in 2013 and put into operation in the same year.
REpower CEO Andreas Nauen said the company has been able to conclude contracts with Wind Works for a total of eight wind farms in Ontario.
"The cold climate version of the REpower MM92, specifically equipped for use in locations with damp weather conditions and major temperature fluctuations, is very well received by the Canadian market," Nauen said.
