Located in the Township of Kincardine, the wind farm will utilize turbine components produced by Siemens in Ontario.
Construction of the facility is expected to begin in 2013 and the project will commence operation in 2014.
Electricity generated by the Armow wind farm will be purchased by the Ontario Power Authority.
The wind farm will produce enough clean energy to power nearly 50,000 local homes annually and will avoid more than 675,000 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year.
Samsung C&T Corporation senior executive vice-president Cheol-Woo Lee said as part of Samsung’s commitment to Ontario under the Green Energy Investment Agreement, the company and its partners are establishing four manufacturing plants in the province and developing up to 2,500MW of renewable energy projects.
