The companies discovered oil in Twiga South-1 well located on Kenya Block 13T on 26 October 2012 and will provide further update once the target depth is achieved and the sampling and analysis is performed.
As a part of the multi-well drilling program in Kenya and Ethiopia, the companies have drilled Twiga South-1 which is the first discovery in the Block 13T. Tullow and Africa Oil earlier discovered oil in Block 10BB.
Tullow Oil and Africa Oil each hold 50% interest in the Twiga South-1 well and Tullow Oil is the operator.
