The company temporarily closed down its oil refinery in Sri Lanka for about two weeks after it ran short of the Iranian crude oil due to the Western sanctions.
Ceylon Petroleum is expecting to receive a shipment of 80,000 MT by 8 or 9 November and another shipment of 135,000 MT by 13 to 15 November 2012.
According to the company, it has taken enough steps to run the refinery continuously.
Ceylon Petroleum managing director L E Susantha Silva was quoted by Daily News as saying that the Iranian crude oil is better suited to the refinery.
"Due to economic sanctions imposed on Iran, the CPC had to face various problems in importing crude oil," Silva said.
Even though the company had shut down the Sapugaskanda oil refinery for a short period of time, it was able to supply oil to its customers.
