The company drilled one horizontal and one vertical well targeting the oil-bearing sandstones of the Glauconitic formation.
Hemisphere drilled the first horizontal well in the pool which started producing 140 barrels of oil per day (bopd) since with a no water cut since 31 October 2012.
The company has plans to continue drilling new wells in the pool and has secured licensing for two wells.
Hemisphere’s vertical well is expected to start producing oil by the end of November 2012 and will earn the company a quarter section within the Jenner area and will extend the rolling option to drill and further gain up to 6.50 sections within the region.
In October, the company acquired 3D seismic program over additional farm-in lands and will use it to select new locations for its 2013 drilling program.
