The Klagerup wind farm is developed and partly owned by Swedish wind power developer HS Kraft and is slated for operation in late 2011.
REpower will supply the MM92 turbines each with a rated capacity of 2.05MW and has founded a Swedish subsidiary, REpower Systems Scandinavia.
The turbine order and the launch of the wholly owned subsidiary mark the company’s entry into the Swedish wind energy market.
REpower Systems chief market officer Hornung Pedersen said that with the Swedish government’s ambitious goals for the expansion of renewable energy sources, the simplified planning and approval process, and the joint certificate market with Norway beginning in 2012, there is a supportive regulatory framework for wind turbine projects.
