The construction of Guangxi Petrochemical’s 10Mt/a refining plant started in November 2007, with a total investment of RMB15.1bn.
The plant has 10 production units, including a 10Mt/a atmospheric-vacuum distillation unit, a 3.5Mt/a heavy oil catalystic cracking unit, a 2.2Mt/a continuous catalystic reforming unit and a 2.2Mt/a wax oil hydrocracking unit, as well as relevant public utilities such as oil-tank farm, dock and railway special line.
Following the commencement of the plant’s operation, Guangxi Petrochemical is able to provide 8.3 million tons of fuels including gasoline, diesel, aviation kerosene and liquefied petroleum gas, and 900,000 tons of petrochemicals such as polypropylene, aromatic hydrocarbon, benzene, methylbenzene and mixed xylenes every year to southwest China.
