The Geycek wind farm located in central Anatolia was developed by EDF’s Turkish subsidiary Polat Enerji and a Canadian institutional investor.
EDF owns 45% of the project and the Canadian institutional investor holds 45%. The remaining 10% is owned by Adnan Polat’s Batiyel group.
Polat Enerji has developed eight wind farms in Turkey, four of which were started production in 2013.
The four projects are Samurlu (34.5MW), Kozbeyli (32.2MW), wind farms at Poyraz (54.9MW) and the extension to the Sayalar (20MW).
Until now, EDF has installed eight wind farms with over 500MW in this nation which offers favourable natural conditions and has strong ambitions for the production of wind energy, the company said.
The government of Turkey aims for 20,000MW of wind powered generating capacity by 2023.
