Currently, the Himachal Pradesh Infrastructure Development Board (HPIDB) is assessing the terms and conditions of fresh proposal, following which the cabinet committee will review the report and will approve, Times of India ?reported.
A senior government official said that the new proposal has been submitted to examine terms and conditions of the new proposal by the HPIDB.
"Once the proposal is examined, cabinet committee approval would be sought," official added.
Around five years ago, the state government allotted the project, through competitive global bidding process, to Brakel as two separate entities of 480MW each as Jangi-Thopan and Thopan-Powari.
However, on 23 April 2013, the state cabinet had announced its plan to re-bid Jangi-Thopan and Thopan-Powari projects as a single Jangi-Thopan-Powari project of 960MW capacity, according to the new hydel policy.
The cabinet had then decided to reject Brakel Corporation and Reliance Infrastructure’s representations.
