The Barquentine exploration well was drilled to a total depth of approximately 16,880ft in water depths of about 5,200ft.
Once operations are complete at the well, the company plans to mobilize the Belford Dolphin drillship approximately 16 miles to the south to drill the Lagosta exploration well, also located in the Offshore Area 1 of the Rovuma Basin.
Anadarko currently holds more than 2.6 million acres in the basin where it has identified more than 50 prospects and leads, and is the operator with a 36.5% working interest in the Offshore Area 1.
