Phoenix Solar is responsible for planning and building the power plants near Taranto in Apulia (6.1MW) and near Alessandria in Piemonte (2.8MW).
Crystalline solar modules provided by E.ON are being used for the PV power plants.
Construction work on both projects started in October 2010, with completion scheduled before the end of the year.
Phoenix Solar chief sales officer Ulrich Reidenbach said that Italy is a promising future market where Phoenix will be implementing more projects in 2011 as well.
