CAMAC Energy CEO Byron Dunn said that the company is closer to fully appraising the commercial potential of the Zijinshan gas asset, and the next step is to spud the ZJS-03 well, which will be the company’s first well in the larger, upthrown section of the play.

The company’s Zijinshan asset covers an area of 175,000 acres in the Ordos Basin of Shanxi Province.

CAMAC Energy owns 100% of the foreign contract interest in the Zijinshan production sharing contract in partnership with PetroChina CBM.

US based CAMAC Energy is engaged in the exploration, development and production of oil and gas.
