The company built the combined-cycle power plant as a turnkey project on the site of a decommissioned coal-fired unit.
The plant comprises two single-shaft units, with the main components being arranged in a single line of shafting.
Siemens supplied two SGT5-4000F gas turbines, two SST5-5000 steam turbines, two hydrogen-cooled generators, the entire electrical equipment and an SPPA-T3000 I&C system for the plant.
A 16-year service agreement was also signed, and Siemens will maintain and operate the plant.
With its efficiency of approximately 58% and low nitrogen oxide emissions, the power plant will supply more than 1.5 million households with ecofriendly electricity.
According to Siemens, the plant is capable of responding quickly to changes in grid frequency by adjusting the power output in order to stabilize grid frequency.
