The mine is located within the existing Cumnock Coal and Ravensworth complex, as is set to produce eight million tonnes per annum of export thermal and semi soft coking coal at full production, having a mine life of approximately 26 years.
The firm planning to commence the construction of mine in early 2011, and is awaiting Development Consent by the New South Wales Department of Planning and Australian Government environmental approvals.
The Ravensworth North project is jointly owned by Cumnock No. 1 Colliery (Xstrata Coal) with a 90% interest and ICRA Cumnock (Itochu) with a remaining 10% interest.
