The subsidiary, B151, will focus on producing B100, a form of pure biodiesel, at an anticipated cost below that of competing producers for sale to downstream blenders and refiners to blend with traditional fossil fuel-based diesel, the company said.
Solar Acquisition Corp director Bruce Levy said that bio-fuels derived from biomass, and advanced bio-fuels are becoming a strategically important focus for the US state governments, the EPA and governments internationally.
"Between the existing and anticipated mandates for bio-fuel blends, it is our view that now is a great time to begin focusing on meeting the future demand for renewable biofuels," Levy said.
