Since Energias de Portugal (EDP) and Sonatrach first announced the intended joint venture in April 2007, they have reached an understanding on the key terms for the creation of a non-exclusive partnership in natural gas activities in the Iberian Peninsula.
The venture will cover natural gas supply, joint marketing of natural gas and partnerships in combined-cycle gas turbines.
Energias de Portugal (EDP) added that Sonatrach’s place on its general and supervisory boards, which were announced earlier in the year, will also become effective on October 31, 2007.
