South Korea-based Posco Power and Sustainable Energy Capital Partners (SECP), a California-based developer of renewable energy projects, have teamed up to develop and build a 300MW solar photovoltaic power plant in Boulder City, Nevada.

Parsons Corporation, an engineering, construction, technical and management services provider, has been engaged to participate in the project.

Construction of the power plant is scheduled to take place during the second half of 2012.

Once the plant is fully operational, it will have the capacity to provide electricity to nearly 135,000 households for 25 years.

Posco Power president and CEO Soung-Sik Cho said that this project will be the foundation of Posco Power’s entry into the US and other overseas markets for new and renewable energy.
