Sembmarine, which is 70% owned by Sembcorp Marine, has received contract from Siemens Transmission & Distribution to design and construct the offshore substation platform for the Dudgeon offshore wind farm.
The wind farm is being developed by 32km north of Cromer off the coast of Norfolk, in the North Sea, England.
Siemens Transmission & Distribution was selected by the wind farm’s developer Dudgeon Offshore Wind, a joint venture between Norwegian Energy firms Statkraft and Statoil, for the electrical system infrastructure.
Under the contract, SLP will be responsible for designing, engineering, procuring, project management and construction of the platform’s jacket substructure and topside while Siemens will provide the transformers and high voltage electrical distribution technology.
Sembmarine will construct the offshore transformer station (OTS) at its yard in Lowestoft on the UK’s Suffolk coast.
Jurong Shipyard has been selected to complete the repair and life extension, and conversion of very large crude carrier (VLCC) into floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel for the Tullow Oil-operated TEN development project offshore Ghana.
The TEN Development FPSO, which is scheduled to be completed in fourth quarter of 2015, will have a capacity of production and treatment of 80,000 bpd of crude oil, 65,000 bpd of produced water, and 180 MMscfd of gas, with an onboard storage capacity of 1.7 million barrels.
The FPSO can host multiple subsea tiebacks from three reservoirs (Tweneboa, Enyenra, Ntomme) in the Deep Water Tano block off of the coast of Ghana, West Africa.
