The company said that high-deliverability, multi-cycle (HDMC) firm storage capacity up to 6.0bcf will be available for service starting 1 April 2011.
The service levels range from single-cycle to four-cycle service, including hourly profiling customized for the power generators that dominate gas consumption in the Dallas/Ft Worth market during the summer.
The bids are due 17 February 2011, according to the company.
NorTex president and CEO Rob Foss said that gas storage plays an important role in keeping the lights and heat on during weather events in Texas.
"As the largest independent owner and operator of gas storage in North Texas, we were pleased to be able to serve the marketplace during the latest weather event," Foss said.
