The PV solar systems will be installed by Louisville, Colorado-based Bella Energy at the town’s water and wastewater treatment plants.
The company said that the PV solar systems will produce more than 280,000kWh of electricity per year, which represents more than 8% of the town’s total electrical consumption.
The town expects that it will reduce its utility bill by more than $14,000 annually and will receive $22,800 annually in renewable energy credits (REC payments) from Xcel Energy.
According to the company, the addition of the two new PV solar installations will produce an immediate and perpetually positive cash flow, estimated in excess of $500,000 over the anticipated 25-year life of the solar panels.
