The money was raised at $0.08 per share and the company has now attracted more than A$20m ($16.5m) since October 2014.

The cash will be used to continue the development of Toro’s Wiluna uranium project in Western Australia.

Toro secured final environment approvals for the project in April 2013. Wiluna mine estimated to contain about 76.5 million pounds of U3O8, enough resources to run the mine for about 25 years.

Toro Energy managing director Vanessa Guthrie said: "Toro is pleased to advise the market of this demonstration of ongoing support from our shareholders.

"Together with our Chairman, Erica Smyth, we wish to publicly thank our shareholders for their strong support, and advise that the Board has determined that no scale-back will be applied to acceptances under the SPP."

Toro said the move will help increase work at its uranium exploration portfolio elsewhere in WA and the North Territory.

It will also be used in an initial assessment of Toro’s stakes in the Canadian uranium assets that were acquired recently from Sentient.

Toro Energy expects a December 2014 year end cash balance of A$24m ($19.8m).
