These substations are among the 200 new substations inaugurated across the state.
Of the six substations, four are in Ghaziabad with a capacity of 33/11-kV while two are in Gautam Budh Nagar – one with a capacity of 33/11-kV, 2x5MVA and the other, a 132-kV, 2X40MVA.
The new substations are part of the government’s plan to ensure 16-hour power supply in rural areas, 22-hour supply in towns and 24-hour supply in cities of the state, reports Times of India.
Times of India quoted PVVNL superintending engineer Arvind Rajvedi as saying that out of the 200 substations launched across UP, 175 of them are of 33/11-kV capacity and 25 are of higher capacity of 220kV.
Plans for three new substations – at Badalpur, Bodaki and Bhatta-Parsaul – have also been awaiting the state government’s approval.
