IOC had awarded the contract for establishing of the wind farm to Suzlon Energy Limited (Suzlon Energy). Under the contract Suzlon Energy will be responsible for maintenance and operations of the wind farm.
Kandla has been selected due to the wind-swept nature of the coastal town and existence of extensive field infrastructure in the region.
The windfarm started operations a few weeks back but it will be formally put into service when company Chairman, Sarthak Behuria visits Gujarat later this week,” company official said.
