The 200 million cubic feet of gas equivalent per day (mmcfe/d) Mobley gas processing plant is owned by MarkWest Energy Partners.
Mobley facility is receiving natural gas supply via a high pressure pipeline, owned by Magnum Hunter’s midstream subsidiary Eureka Hunter Pipeline.
Eureka Hunter began flowing about 36mmcfe/d to the facility on 19 December 2012 and has plans to increase the daily volume to about 100mmcfe/d in the next six weeks.
The midstream subsidiary along with its wholly-owned subsidiary Triad Hunter are committed to provide about 95% of the Mobley plant’s total capacity.
Eureka Hunter Pipeline senior vice president Don Kirkendall said the company has prepared for the milestone for a year and are now on the verge of completing low pressure gathering and compression facilities at its Carbide, WV site.
"While the start-up of the plant was behind schedule, we can now finally begin realizing the benefits of natural gas processing in this region," Kirkendall added.
"This also allows drilling efforts in northwest West Virginia by Magnum Hunter’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Triad Hunter, as well as a number of other producers committed to our gathering system, to accelerate drilling and completion operations which have to-date been on hold."
The plant is currently operating at 60% of its capacity and mostly processes natural gas predominantly produced from the Marcellus Shale formation.
Mobley gas processing plant will begin operation in April 2013.
