The company intends to allocate $3.9bn or 65% of the total amount to construct new wind energy projects in the country.
The remaining investment of $2.1bn will be assigned to improving the quality of power supply to the 2.4 million customers the company has in the US.
In the last five years, the company has invested about $25bn in the US and directly employs 5,000 professionals.
Iberdrola said it is present in 23 US states and provides jobs for a total of 25,000 professionals in the country.
