The companies plan to jointly establish an operational company and build up a coherent business structure by integrating their various activities pertaining to hydroelectric power generation systems, including marketing, servicing, engineering, development and design.
Hitachi will own 50% share in the new company with the other 50% share to be owned by the two Mitsubishi companies with each company’s shareholding ratio to be decided later.
The new company will develop and design main components for hydroelectric power generation systems, including water turbines, water turbine generators and control systems and also provide marketing, installation and after-sale servicing of hydroelectric power generation systems for electric utilities both in Japan and overseas.
For manufacturing, the companies plan to establish a production structure through organic coordination of their production facilities and development of overseas activities as well. The companies expect that this integration will help them gain knowledge of market needs and accordingly develop business strategies.
