Endesa France already held 45% of Soprolif, which owns a circulating fluid bed plant with an installed capacity of 250MW at the Gardanne site. The current deal makes Endesa France the outright owner of the facility.
In addition, Endesa France and EDF have signed a five-year electricity supply agreement, that locks in sales of Soprolif’s output over the period.
The circulating fluid bed plant owned by Soprolif is located on the same site as one of the groups of the Provence coal-fired station owned by Endesa France.
This deal will reportedly enable Endesa France to optimize the turbine-boiler unit in addition to simplifying its legal structure and management.
