The 102.9MW farm is expected to employ 49 S88 turbines, each with a 2.1MW capacity to be supplied by the Suzlon.
The project is expected to be commissioned in the 2013-14 financial year.
Suzlon India and emerging markets CEO Rohit Modi commented that the contract supports ONGC’s commitment towards sustainable energy.
Designed to withstand extreme conditions the turbines are expected to operate effectively in medium wind regimes at lower maintenance costs.
The contract marks ONGC’s second wind power project following its 51MW wind farm completed in Gujarat in 2008; the facility features 34 Suzlon S82 wind turbines with 1.5MW capacity each.
