Lukoil is reportedly been planning to invest in its local arm, Lukoil Bulgaria, and in its refinery in Burgas. The Russian oil firm has earlier laid down plans to invest around $50 million in Bulgaria’s fuel retail sector by growing its filling station network to 200 outlets by 2007, according to the news source.
Lukoil is reportedly counting on the Petrol assets to help it expand its presence in Bulgaria. Interfax noted that Lukoil is seeking to buy around 290-300 filling stations from Petrol, in compliance with local antimonopoly regulations.
