The well encountered 12.7m of net coal which was canistered immediately for gas desorption measurements.
Gas was observed from the coal cores, and the wireline logs confirm the coal thickness.
Separately, Sentry also said it has reacquired all of its oil, gas and coal seam gas rights in ATP 865 and ATP 866 in Queensland from Sino American Oil.
This option was granted to Sino American Oil in March this year and has been terminated without further rights or obligations from either party.
US based energy firm Sentry owns 10,600 square miles of oil, gas and coal seam gas rights in Queensland.
