Australia-based mining company Wolf Minerals has awarded an £85m Mining Services Contract to CA Blackwell for the Hemerdon tungsten and tin project in Devon, England.
The contract is divided into two parts – Phase 1, Mining pre-strip and Mine development, and Phase 2, Mine production. Phase one will last for 11 months from the commencement date, and phase two has a five-year term from completion of the work on phase one.
The formal commencement of the project is currently expected to be in March 2014, subject to the progress of the project schedule.
Wolf Minerals, which tendered the contract within the UK and internationally, received eleven quality bids which were further evaluated on the basis of quality and price.
