The company will finalize improvements and debottlenecking work during the first half of 2014.
Due for completion in early 2015, the expanded facility will be the largest among Evonik’s six other production sites.
Evonik executive board member Thomas Haeberle said, "As a market and technology leader in high-performance additives, we’re strengthening our position in Asia."
"Our expansion strategy supports the growth of our customers directly from a modern, efficient local production center, with logistics that make a contribution to resource efficiency at the same time," Haeberle added.
Evonik markets its oil additives VISCOPLEX, which is designed to improve productivity and fuel efficiency.
