The ESP250 provides a low-cost, high-performance energy storage solution for large-scale energy storage applications for utilities, renewable energy developers and commercial and industrial customers.
Additionally, the batteries feature an output power capability of 250kilowatts, 1 megawatt hour of energy storage capacity and a modular design to support linking of multiple batteries into a single Energy Storage Platform (ESP), the company claimed.
Potential applications for the new batteries include peaker plant replacement, transmission and distribution investment deferral, renewables management, microgrid implementation or back-up power system delivery.
The ESP250 can also be used for multiple applications including frequency regulation and peak shaving, thereby increasing their return on investment (ROI).
