Said to be part of ArcelorMittal’s Distribution Solutions division, the site in Bourg-en-Bresse, Rhônes-Alpes region, France, will manufacture semi-manufactured rolled products to be used on flexible sheaths for the development of deeper oil and gas fields worldwide.
The site supplies Technip’s manufacturing plants that are located in France, Brazil and Malaysia.
According to ArcelorMittal, the contract bolsters the company’s wire activities in Bourg-en-Bresse, which will see a rise in its production to support the offshore exploitation market.
The agreement also highlights that the group and its French production sites can market better products to meet the requirements and challenges of clients.
Technip Subsea executive vice president and chief operating officer Frédéric Delormel said the company’s know-how and solutions are a competitive advantage for its oil and gas clients.
"The technological excellence of the projects we develop is one of our strategic priorities," Delormel added.
