Gamesa will also be responsible for installing and commissioning the turbines as well as provide five-year maintenance for the project under an agreement in principal signed by the companies.
To be manufactured at Gamesa’s Camacari factory, the turbines are set to be delivered after the first quarter of 2015 with the project set to come online in the second half of the same year.
Gamesa Southern Cone managing director Edgard Corrochano said the new contract shows the company’s commitment to support local community development, creating jobs and sharing its know-how with local suppliers.
"As a result, Gamesa was one of the first foreign companies to comply with the new local content requirements imposed by the BNDES," added Corrochano.
