The new unit at the plant, a 50/50 JV of RusHydro and RUSAL, will currently add 227MW to the working capacity due to lower head.
The developers have commissioned the first three 333MW units of the plant in November 2012, the fourth unit in January 21, 2013, and are currently constructing the last ninth unit of the plant.
The plant’s total installed capacity of the five operating is 1,665MW, but the actual capacity is 1,175MW at reservoir level of 188m.
RusHydro and RUSAL had inked a deal in May 2006 to jointly develop the Boguchanskoye Energy and Metals Complex and as such, they have resumed construction of the Boguchanskaya hydro power plant.
