GE will provide one D650 steam turbine and one Rapid Response combined cycle system for the power plant, and also service the plant under a 20-year agreement.
Using natural gas, the plant can generate power sufficient to power 750,000 homes. It will replace the aging power plants in the region.

The new electric generating facility will provide capacity and energy to regional transmission organization, PJM Interconnection.
GE Power & Water power generation products president and CEO Vic Abate said: "The 7F.05 is a very competitive machine, with higher efficiency and increased power output than other F-class machines.
"We’re pleased to work with Advanced Power to bring more efficient, cleaner energy to the country over the lifetime of this equipment."
GE will manufacture the gas turbines at its facility in Greenville, South Carolina, while the steam turbine will be built at the company’s facility in Schenectady, New York.
Bechtel will build the Carroll County Energy Project while EthosEnergy will operate the facility.
