Hamon supporting the customer from the conceptual phase to the dismantling: the example of Andorra Teruel Natural Draft Cooling Tower

Following Endesa’s decision to close Andorra Teruel Thermal Power Plant in Spain due to the latest restrictions and European objectives to reduce emissions, Hamon, through its Spanish brand Esindus, was awarded a contract for the dismantling of all internals of the NDCT, including asbestos.

At Hamon, we support our clients in all the stages of their projects: from the conceptual phase of the project to the design of their custom refrigeration system. We are always present as consultants for all the queries regarding cooling towers, as it has been the case for Andorra Teruel Thermal Power Plant. Natural Draft Cooling towers are special for their magnitude and presence, as well as for the high degree of specialization required for their design and construction.

Hamon Esindus has always been there for the client throughout the lifetime of the installation, being the commercial reference for the improvements and adaptations to be performed along the way. After the irrevocable decision to close the plant, we are proud to take part in the dismantling of these beautiful concrete “giants”, being one of the companies awarded by the UTE DEMONRE. Our scope will include the removal of asbestos, the disassembly of asbestos-free materials and the management of all the waste produced.

We will continue working to support the dismantling of the remaining “concrete giants” in Spain.
