This project will be the first horizontal well for the domestic oil producer, who currently maintains profitable operations in Garvin County, Oklahoma.
The company expects to drill the Reichers 3-1H well to a vertical depth of 4,000 to 5,000ft, and horizontally 3,000 to 3,500ft.
Company researchers identified horizontal drilling as the most economical method for tapping into this source, as over time horizontal drilling in the Mississippi Lime of Oklahoma has shown superior production levels as compared to vertical drilling operations in the same area.
