The 9.4MW hydro power facility, being located in Barangay Igsoro in the municipality of Bugasong, will utilize hydro resources from Paliuan River.
SUWECO is expected to invest approximately PHP2bn ($45.9m) in the development of the hydro power facility.
Phase II of Villasiga hydro power project is expected to become operational by 2017.
Meanwhile, the phase I of Villasiga hydro power project is expected to become operational by December 2013, the company said.
The clean electricity generated at the phase I of Villasiga will be purchased by Antique Electric Cooperative, under a 20-year power supply agreement. However, this agreement is awaiting Energy Regulatory Commission’s approval.
