The $6bn oil refining and petrochemical complex has an installed capacity of 668,000 barrels per day and consists of 50 units that process crude oil to produce various petrochemical products.

Reliance will carry out the maintenance turnaround at one of the crude distillation units of its special economic zone (SEZ) refinery starting from 18 February 2013.

The maintenance work is expected to take about four weeks time to complete.

During the maintenance period, the company will also perform other necessary modifications to improve the performance and reliability of the unit.

Reliance also has plans to carry out routine catalyst replacement of one VGO & Diesel Hydrotreater unit.

The remaining three distillation units at the refinery and all secondary processing units are expected to sustain normal operations.
