Galliford Try, a British construction company, in a joint venture with Aecom has secured a contract under Yorkshire Water's Large Schemes framework, which has a total value of GBP330m.

As per the terms of the contract, the company will be upgrading the Acomb Landing water treatment works in York and the Caldervale waste water treatment works in Wakefield at a combined value of GBP25m.

Galliford Try and Aecom are one of the four framework contractors who have been appointed to carry out upgrades to water and waste water treatment works and schemes to improve the quality of bathing water on the east coast of Yorkshire to meet the revised Bathing Water Directive.

Galliford Try CEO Greg Fitzgerald said that the company is delighted to be able to continue its longstanding relationship with Yorkshire Water with a service for their Large Schemes framework.
